SUNNYVALE, Calif., and YOKNEAM, ISRAEL, Sept. 10 — Mellanox Technologies, Ltd., a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems, today announced that its end-to-end, FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand interconnect solutions provide industry-leading performance for compute demanding applications running over Intel's new Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v2 product family. Applications running over the new Intel Xeon processor and Mellanox's FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand solutions demonstrate over 30 percent better performance, enabling businesses to do more, faster, thereby lowering product design cycles and time-to-market.
Mellanox FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand solutions, consisting of ConnectX and Connect-IB InfiniBand adapters, SwitchX-based switch systems, cables and software, optimize server and storage productivity with industry leading bandwidth and latency performance while maximizing CPU efficiency. The combination of the Mellanox solutions with the new processor from Intel has demonstrated significant application performance increases versus the previous Intel processor generation: a 35 percent performance increase for the LINPACK benchmark over a 16-node cluster , 32 percent performance increase for the NAMD and 26 percent for GROMACS, two of the most popular molecular dynamics applications, and 27 percent performance increase for ICON, a weather and atmospheric simulations software.
