SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 10 -- Colfax International, a leader in high performance computing (HPC) and Enterprise IT solutions, today announced support for the Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v2 product family across its entire line-up of ServEdge servers and ProEdge workstations that offer unprecedented performance and efficiency while delivering best-in-class support for virtualization, datacenter-consolidation, and cloud computing environments.

The new ServEdge server solutions will enable enterprises to dramatically drive down data center space, power, cooling and operational management costs while also providing exceptional performance and reliability, for their most data-demanding applications.
The new processors feature 50% (up to 12C) more cores, 50% (up to 30MB) more last level cache that combined with new 22nm manufacturing process deliver up to 50% more performance and up to 45% more energy efficiency compared to the previous generation of Intel Xeon processors. Additionally faster memory and IO will help accelerate compute intensive applications and enable technical and scientific users to achieve a higher simulation throughput, getting more work done more in less time.
A suite of platform and data protection technologies including Intel Advanced Encryption Standards New Instructions (AES-NI), means enterprises no longer have to make any tradeoffs between performance and security, paving the way for widespread adoption of Colfax's ClusterEdge H2200x Hadoop cluster - an enterprise-ready big data solution based on the new Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v2 product family.
The new Colfax ProEdge workstations feature the latest 12-core Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v2 product family, offer up to 512 gigabytes (GB) of DDR3 memory, and support multithreaded workstation applications that professionals rely on.
The ProEdge series of workstations is a perfect fit for customers in oil and gas, computer-aided design (CAD), computer-aided engineering (CAE), medical, video and animation - working their way through the most demanding and compute-intensive visualization applications.
