LEIPZIG, Germany, June 12 -- The Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG) today announces the availability of its latest mathematical and statistical library, the NAG Library for Intel Xeon Phi, ahead of their attendance, next week, at Europe’s largest supercomputing event, ISC13.
The NAG Library for Intel Xeon Phi contains over 1,700 numerical routines, a number of which have been parallelised and tuned to take advantage of the performance of the Xeon Phi. NAG routines automatically offload, when it is beneficial to do so, compute intensive operations to the Xeon Phi thereby enabling users to transparently exploit the performance of the Xeon Phi. For more advanced users the new NAG Library for Intel Xeon Phi also supports Intel’s Explicit Offload and Native Execution models. To further complement the new Library, NAG provides parallel software engineering and performance optimisation services to advise and give assistance with the migration of application codes in order that they effectively exploit the potential of the Xeon Phi coprocessor.

Tailoring the NAG Library to support Intel Xeon Phi coprocessors should benefit our mutual customers’ highly-parallel, development efforts.”
The NAG Library continues to provide an industry benchmark for accuracy, quality, reliability and documentation standards. Performance sensitive routines are updated with each library release to work efficiently on parallel computing systems using standards such as OpenMP and MPI.
At ISC13, Dr Ian Reid, Chief Commercial Officer at NAG, will be presenting“Accelerators: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” at the Intel booth #350 on Tuesday 18th June at 14:00. NAG staff will be talking about the NAG Library and HPC Services and Consulting at their ISC13 booth #650 during the exhibition and conference.
