June 6 -- The PRACE Scientific Conference 2013, organized by the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE), takes place on Sunday, June 16, in Leipzig, Germany, at the Congress Center Leipzig, Hall 4.
The PRACE ISC award winning project, “Multi trillion particles simulation on SuperMUC,” will be presented by Wolfgang Eckhardt of TU München (Germany). Nine top European scientists will be presenting their results and advances in large scale simulations obtained with support of PRACE. Konstantinos Glinos, head of the European Commission e-Infrastructure unit, will outline the European HPC Strategy implementation. PRACE´s strategy for a sustainable and persistent infrastructure 2015-2020 will be presented by Dr. Sergi Girona, Chair of the PRACE Board of Directors. The seminar will be chaired by Professor Kenneth Ruud, the president of the Norwegian Chemical Society and Chairman of the Scientific Steering Committee of the Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE).
PRACE with ISC (International Supercomputing Conference) again are adding value for ISC’13 attendees. The PRACE Scientific Conference is an excellent opportunity to learn from and discuss with the scientists, who have first-hand knowledge of the use of PRACE systems. The Conference will also provide information about services and opportunities to participate in future PRACE supported projects.
Participants are kindly asked to register via the ISC registration. After the sessions PRACE invites you to a get-together.

The Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE) is an international non-profit association with its seat in Brussels. The PRACE Research Infrastructure provides a persistent world-class high performance computing service for scientists and researchers from academia and industry in Europe. The computer systems and their operations accessible through PRACE are provided by 4 PRACE members (BSC representing Spain, CINECA representing Italy, GCS representing Germany and GENCI representing France). The Implementation Phase of PRACE receives funding from the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreements RI-261557, RI-283493 and RI-312763.
10/30/2013 | Cray, DDN, Mellanox, NetApp, ScaleMP, Supermicro, Xyratex | Creating data is easy… the challenge is getting it to the right place to make use of it. This paper discusses fresh solutions that can directly increase I/O efficiency, and the applications of these solutions to current, and new technology infrastructures.
10/01/2013 | IBM | A new trend is developing in the HPC space that is also affecting enterprise computing productivity with the arrival of “ultra-dense” hyper-scale servers.
Ken Claffey, SVP and General Manager at Xyratex, presents ClusterStor at the Vendor Showdown at ISC13 in Leipzig, Germany.
Join HPCwire Editor Nicole Hemsoth and Dr. David Bader from Georgia Tech as they take center stage on opening night at Atlanta's first Big Data Kick Off Week, filmed in front of a live audience. Nicole and David look at the evolution of HPC, today's big data challenges, discuss real world solutions, and reveal their predictions. Exactly what does the future holds for HPC?
