SALT LAKE CITY, UT, Nov. 12 – Mellanox Technologies, Ltd., a leading supplier of high-performance, end-to-end interconnect solutions for data center servers and storage systems, today expanded its line of end-to-end FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand interconnect solutions with new 12-port non-blocking fixed switches. The new switches are part of the Mellanox SX6000 series of FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand switches; all with seamless fabric management capabilities to ensure the highest fabric performance. Mellanox FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand adapters and switches are the most efficient interconnect solutions for connecting data center servers and storage, delivering high throughput, low latency and world leading applications performance.
Built with Mellanox’s 6th generation SwitchX-2 InfiniBand switch device, the SX6012 (managed) and SX6005 (externally managed) provide up to twelve 56Gb/s full bi-directional bandwidth per port. The 12-port switch series is an ideal choice for small departmental or back-end storage clustering with high application performance needs. The unique design provides the ideal small-scale storage environment with extremely low latency, high throughput and highest resiliency using two ½ 19’’ boxes in a single RU, each with redundant power supplies.
“Mellanox’s new 12-port FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand switches provide small-scale storage, enterprise and embedded systems with the best cost-performance interconnect solution,” said Gilad Shainer, vice president of market development at Mellanox Technologies. “These new switches enable richer port-count variety for system builders and IT managers to leverage from FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand for higher application performance at a smaller scale.”
Mellanox Technologies is a leading supplier of end-to-end InfiniBand and Ethernet interconnect solutions and services for servers and storage. Mellanox interconnect solutions increase data center efficiency by providing the highest throughput and lowest latency, delivering data faster to applications and unlocking system performance capability. Mellanox offers a choice of fast interconnect products: adapters, switches, software and silicon that accelerate application runtime and maximize business results for a wide range of markets including high performance computing, enterprise data centers, Web 2.0, cloud, storage and financial services.
