New location features executive briefing center, modern product demonstration datacenter and consolidates associates under a single roof
BOULDER, Colo., Dec. 18 -- Spectra Logic, celebrating 30 years of data storage innovation, announced today that it is expanding its facilities at a new worldwide headquarters location in Boulder, Colo., in the spring of 2010. The new facility showcases a large, raised-floor customer demonstration area to view Spectra's enterprise-targeted products. The building's size also enables all associates to be located in a single building, instead of multiple, smaller buildings at its current Boulder-based campus, where it has resided since 1983.
The new worldwide headquarters within the City of Boulder, Colo., is an 80,712-square-foot office and flex building. It will house members from every Spectra Logic department including the executive team, engineering, finance, sales, manufacturing, marketing, sales and support. The financial details of the agreement are confidential and not available for disclosure.
"The steady growth of Spectra Logic's products in both the disk and enterprise storage markets, coupled with three years of profitability as a corporation, has positioned Spectra to make this move at a very strategic time," said Nathan Thompson, Spectra Logic's CEO and founder. "We were able to identify an excellent real estate investment opportunity that enables the company to now demonstrate its enterprise products in a world-class facility."
In the new headquarters building, Spectra will continue its 30-year history of United States-based manufacturing to ensure high quality products with the manufacturing and engineering departments remaining local to each other.
Spectra also plans to make this a world-class facility for its employees. The company is custom designing the new facility in the popular "open spaced" format to allow exposed sunlight for every associate. Employees will also have access to miles of running and biking trails and a 24-hour gymnasium with showering facilities and cafeteria in the building.
Spectra Logic's new worldwide corporate address will be 6285 Lookout Road in Boulder, Colo.
