Conference keynote session to present strategic approaches to managing complexity in HPC environments
NEW YORK, and RALEIGH, NC, Sept. 9 -- To show financial services firms on Wall Street how to take control of complexity, rPath, an innovator in automating application deployment and maintenance, will present a keynote session on real-life successes and strategic approaches to managing complexity in high performance computing environments. The keynote is part of the 2009 High Performance Computing on Wall Street conference to be held Sept. 14, 2009, at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York. A sponsor of the conference, rPath will be exhibiting in booth 222.
In the 8:40 a.m. session, "Managing Complexity in HPC Environments," Erik Troan, founder and CTO, rPath, will address the complexity concerns facing IT today.
Most IT organizations are expected to provide ever increasing service levels, while also reducing costs and dealing with the escalating complexity of high performance computing environments. This is putting pressure on IT leaders to think differently about traditional processes and management models. Reducing complexity typically isn't an option, which means that the focus needs to be on automation and rigorous process controls. After all, with proper controls, complexity can be a business enabler. Without such controls, it can be a corporate risk.
rPath's Troan, a noted Linux expert and former Red Hat executive, will discuss his vision for an automated and controlled approach to deployment and maintenance of complex applications running in HPC environments.
