Exhibit shows how Fulcrum's lossless Ethernet can be used in datacenter to support HPC, Web, video and storage traffic
CALABASAS, Calif., Nov. 17 -- SC08 -- Fulcrum Microsystems is demonstrating an end-to-end converged 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GbE) network in the Fulcrum booth (#1845) at the SC08 Supercomputing Show at the Austin, Texas, Convention Center (Nov. 17-20).
The technology display pairs Fulcrum's new "Monaco" 24-port SFP+ switch reference design with Chelsio's Unified Wire network adapters to demonstrate how lossless Ethernet fabrics can be built in the datacenter today. The booth configuration will show concurrent HPC, NFS, Web, multicast video and Fibre Channel over Ethernet storage data flows across a single lossless Ethernet infrastructure. A key element is Fulcrum's QoS feature set, which enables lossless Ethernet desirable for storage traffic to converge onto the same fabric carrying lossy Ethernet.

Monaco is a 1U-high, 10GbE switch platform with 24 SFP+ ports. Monaco features VantagePoint technology with enhanced congestion management capabilities combined with the low 300ns L3 latency provided by Fulcrum's FocalPoint silicon.
