TEMPE, Ariz., Aug. 5 -- Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution leader and operating group of Avnet, Inc., today announced a distribution agreement with PeakColo to increase the availability of Peak's cloud services platform via channel partners in the U.S. Peak is a leading enterprise-class infrastructure as a service (IaaS) cloud service provider that is 100 percent dedicated to serving channel partners, and Avnet will be developing integrated and packaged off-premise cloud solutions for its channel partners powered by Peak. These solutions will address the IT infrastructure challenges of channel partners' customers related to production workloads, business continuity, disaster recovery, storage and networking.
Avnet also unveiled its first Peak-powered cloud solution today based on NetApp Private Storage for Amazon Web Services (AWS). This offering combines the performance and control of NetApp enterprise storage with the efficiency and elasticity of AWS. Enterprises can access the solution exclusively through Avnet's channel community, with the ability to consume NetApp storage in an OPEX model that does not require ownership and offers as short as a 12 month commitment.
"Avnet's channel community helps enterprises implement and manage cloud-based technology environments," said Tim FitzGerald, Vice President of Avnet Cloud Solutions, Avnet Services, Americas. "Our partners are supporting their clients in making the transition to the cloud easier and more cost effective for enterprises, and PeakColo understands the vital role the channel plays in making cloud computing more intuitive for companies. Together, Avnet and Peak will empower channel partners with the technology and resources they need to implement the end-to-end cloud solutions for their customers' unique business needs."
Additionally, channel partners can white label Peak's Cloud through Avnet's Cloud Accelerator Program Powered by Peak. This program enables Avnet partners to offer cloud services by integrating Peak's enterprise-class cloud services platform, featuring Open Compute or Cisco FlexPod-based infrastructure and NetApp storage, into their existing managed services portfolio to meet the specific needs of their customers.
"Avnet's unique approach of developing integrated and packaged cloud solutions will provide our channel partners with a wealth of resources for supporting their enterprise clients," stated Luke Norris, CEO and founder of PeakColo. "PeakColo's solutions reduce the complexity and risk of moving enterprise computing into the cloud. Our new collaboration with Avnet gives partners the additional personalized service and technical support they need to be successful."
The integrated, packaged solutions powered by Peak are developed by the Avnet Services Cloud Solutions team, which focuses on off-premise cloud computing. Leveraging Avnet's technical expertise and intellectual property, this team creates cloud-based offerings for high-demand workload areas, including application hosting and management; backup and disaster recovery; data center as a service; productivity and collaboration; remote management and monitoring; security; and test and development. The Avnet Services Cloud Solutions team will also provide Peak partners with solutions sales and technical support throughout their entire sales cycle.
"Our customers are dealing with increasing demands for IT services and decreasing IT budgets," said Kurt Klein, CEO, Computer Media Technologies (CMT), a technology solutions provider and Avnet partner. "Avnet's integrated and packaged cloud-ready solutions, such as those powered by PeakColo, represent a forward-thinking approach that we can use to help businesses significantly reduce their capital expenditures. Our customers will be able to free core resources to focus on the business issues that matter most, while cost-effectively accessing the technologies they need, when they need them."
