TORONTO, Ontario, June 28 -- Softchoice, a North American solutions and services company, announced that it will begin offering VMware vCloud Hybrid Service across the United States and Canada. Through VMware vCloud Hybrid Service, Softchoice will provide clients with a common platform that spans private and public clouds, enabling organizations to scale their IT infrastructure dynamically using the VMware management tools and infrastructure they already know and trust. Softchoice is one of a select group of leading VMware solution providers chosen to launch this program.
"vCloud is an ideal fit with our focus on providing clients with a number of cloud-ready solutions," said David MacDonald, CEO of Softchoice. "Hybrid cloud solutions like this are making it simpler, more cost-effective and less risky for organizations to enhance the performance of their business through the cloud."
To assist clients, Softchoice Solution Architects and Professional Services engineers will provide consultations on the vCloud environment, an overview of pathways to adoption as well as hands-on support with respect to the migration of virtual data center infrastructure.
"Whether you're looking to build high-availability infrastructure, or need to expand existing data centers, vCloud delivers new levels of flexibility, reliability and ease of use," said Steve McDonald, Director of Business Development, Data Center and Hybrid Cloud Solutions at Softchoice. "The fact that vCloud is built upon the same platform many of our customers already use means a faster route to the cloud without the need for additional infrastructure investments or changes to the way they manage existing applications."
The VMware vCloud Hybrid Service announcement marks another key milestone in the steady expansion of Softchoice's portfolio of "cloud-ready" offerings. This includes consulting and technical expertise to help organizations design and implement private and hybrid cloud architectures as well as managed services for monitoring virtualized environments. Softchoice also offers access public infrastructure-as-a-service offerings as well as Softchoice Cloud - a proprietary platform that provides centralized procurement, deployment, management and support across more than 50 leading Software-as-a-Service applications.
As a leading North American provider of technology solutions and services, Softchoice combines the efficiency and reliability of a national IT supplier with the personal touch and technical expertise of a local solutions provider. Softchoice's holistic approach to technology includes solution design, implementation and asset management and cloud services, as well as access to one of the most comprehensive and cost-effective technology distribution networks in North America. With over 1,200 employees, Softchoice manages the technology needs of thousands of corporate and public sector organizations across the United States and Canada.
