STERLING, Va., Dec. 10 – IceWEB, Inc. (IWEB) a leading provider of Unified Data Storage appliances for cloud and virtual environments, today announced the launch of its IceWEB Cloud Services Unit, providing secure, infinitely expandable, ubiquitous cloud capabilities to its Unified Storage customers.
Gaurang Mehta, IceWEB’s Chief Technology Officer said, “This launch represents the culmination of a lengthy period of development. We are now able to offer a complete suite of Cloud Storage Services to our customers who have been reluctant to move in the direction of the ‘public cloud’ types of architecture. IceWEB’s Cloud Services unit will provide them with the security, control and expandability they need now and in the future.”
“Additionally," IceWEB CEO, Rob Howe stated, “We are very excited about this launch of an entirely new level of services from our company. We will very soon launch Phase Two of IceWEB’s Cloud Services, a nationwide Content Delivery Network, providing the absolute top tier of services available in the market. Why that matters is that companies who must maintain their data “everywhere at once” and who have been at the mercy of extremely overpriced solutions, now have an affordable alternative with no diminution in their service level. This is the future, and IceWEB is leading that charge.”
Howe went on to say, “We are seeing more and more that the cloud as a local service in government, education, healthcare and corporate entities is rocketing to the front of required services. Using a “public” cloud has caused great harm to many organizations as they see their precious data assets leaving the enterprise. Those entities now urgently need to offer their own cloud services on their own campus or premise, and they will now be able to do that with IceWEB. We will launch our IceFOLDER mobile client software, enabling business associates, students, faculty, customers or constituents to manage their own personal folder in the business or campus cloud from any device—a smartphone, tablet, notebook, whatever, while securing that data according to the controls required by the enterprise on IceWEB appliances running in their on-premise cloud.
“The expansion and extension of the cloud portion of our business has been a critical focus area for me since coming to IceWEB, and we are now seeing the first fruits of those efforts. There’s not a business segment in the US that doesn’t need one of the aspects of IceWEB Cloud Services, and we will lead in that space.”
IceWEB manufactures award-winning, high performance unified data storage appliances with enterprise storage management capabilities at a fraction of the price of traditional providers, while reducing space, power and cooling requirements and simplifying storage management for land-based, virtual and cloud environments.
