BOULDER, Colo., Oct. 25 — Ajubeo, a provider of high-performance, enterprise-class virtual private data centers and cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), today announced the addition of a three-tier, high-performance virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) offering as part of their unified IaaS platform. Available immediately, Ajubeo's customizable VDI offering accommodates business requirements from small deployments to thousands of desktops and features VMware View 5.1 Premier, NetApp SSD storage and carrier-grade networking technology from Brocade. Benefits include increased security and centralization of end-user data, universal access to desktops and applications from any device over any Internet connection, efficient workforce collaboration and file sharing, and improved productivity and mobility.
"Ajubeo VDI is a game-changer for businesses of any size," said Chuck Price, president and CEO at Ajubeo. "Ajubeo customers are now able to tailor VDI environments unique to their total workforce demand, customizing pools of desktop instances within their private virtual data centers to address end-user performance needs without over-provisioning. The prohibitive impact of network latency when working with very large data files across large geographic distances is completely eliminated with our new VDI solution. Our customers can now maintain far better data security with higher application performance across their entire workforce, improving their competitive advantage and turning workforce productivity into a multiplier on enterprise value."
The three tiers of Ajubeo VDI are Standard, Advanced and Elite. Standard is a cost-effective, template-based offering that leverages non-persistent linked clones for fast application delivery. Both Advanced and Elite VDI feature persistent desktops with user personas, settings, applications and other data stored in the desktop VM that remains intact after the end-user logs out. Advanced and Elite VDI also enable end-users to install their own applications for increased control and scalability. Ajubeo Elite VDI is customizable to end-user needs including accelerated 3-D graphics support capability. Compared to the Pro-level VDI offerings of many competing products on the market today, Ajubeo Elite VDI provides 16X the memory and 2X the compute resources per desktop.
"Ajubeo VDI runs on our proven enterprise-class cloud infrastructure, delivering industry leading IOPS and network performance, leading to end-users that see a marked increase in performance when compared to their physical workstations," said Tom Whitcomb, CTO of Ajubeo. "Our Elite VDI offers capabilities that few vendors in the space can match, with performance that enables developers, engineers, architects, and other resource-intensive end-users to become more productive through the offloading of rendering processes, easy sharing of large files, and efficient collaboration. Ajubeo's 100% uptime track record, low-latency 10-gig network backbone and high-performance IOPS ensure the VDI end-user experience surpasses that of traditional workstations. While some offerings seem to cost less on the price sheet, when our customers consider the decrease in productivity, loss of departmental confidence due to an underperforming environment, and our added ability to fully integrate with their secure virtual private data center, paying a little more is an easy decision."
The Ajubeo VDI announcement comes on the heels of an October 24, 2012 announcement from private equity firm Grey Mountain Partners, regarding growth equity capitalization of Ajubeo to support strong demand, new market expansion, and new product development. Ajubeo has reported third-quarter revenues that represent a 600% increase over the prior-year quarter, a 233% increase in customer count, a 400% increase in cloud partner program participants, and a 440% increase in cloud infrastructure resource utilization.
