Jan. 23 — The StratusLab project is proud to announce the StratusLab 1.2 release. This is an incremental release of the StratusLab distribution, the cloud computing distribution designed for grid and cluster computing.
Key features of StratusLab v1.2
* Image caching for faster VM instantiation.
* Improvements in persistent storage, including enhanced security, easier configuration, automatic mounting and formatting and the ability to run machines from a persistent disk image.
* Asynchronous status notification on VM startup via e-mail.
* Addition of messaging functionality to allow notifications of state changes in VMs to be sent to user's monitoring applications.
* Bug-fixes and ongoing quality enhancements.
* A new certification process that guarantees improved overall quality of the final release.
