SACRAMENTO, Calif., Dec. 14 — StrataScale, Inc., a premier provider of fast, easy and affordable cloud and hybrid hosting services, announced today that its new state-of-the-art 140,000 square-foot datacenter facility in Ashburn, Va., will offer better service for its East Coast customers while providing additional capacity to support the company's rapidly expanding sales – which have been increasing more than 100 percent annually.
Scheduled for completion during the second quarter of 2012, the new facility will include more than 70,000 square feet of raised floor space and is engineered with patent pending N+2 fault-tolerant design for all power, cooling, and network systems. Located in Northern Virginia's "fiber alley" communications corridor, which carries nearly half of the nation's Internet traffic, it is also adjacent to a major power grid that can supply up to 14.4 megawatts of power.
One client that will benefit from the new facility is the Jane Goodall Institute (JGI), a global nonprofit based in Arlington, Va. Founded by renowned primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall, the international conservation and education organization is consolidating its IT systems onto dedicated StrataScale enterprise servers. "By combining our mission-critical IT systems, StrataScale is enabling JGI to focus on crucial programmatic priorities," said JGI's IT Director Christopher "Cricket" Wallace.
"Our East Coast clients have been asking for more capacity, and we expect to be able to fully meet that demand," said Douglas Adams, StrataScale's vice president of sales and marketing. "With this new facility we're positioning ourselves, and our customers, for significant growth."
