NetApp to Advance Computing Education, State of Cloud and Linux Technology in April 2011

SUNNYVALE, CA., March 29, 2011 --  As part of the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) group that developed the new standard, NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) will demonstrate interoperability with the Cloud Data Management Interface (CDMI) at the upcoming SNIA Cloud Plugfest. Also in April, NetApp's Office of the CTO will sponsor conferences to help promote computing education and advance the state of Linux storage and filesystems.

2011 Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference

NetApp's Office of the CTO is a silver academic sponsor of the 2011 Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing Conference. The conference encourages computing students and professionals from diverse backgrounds to continue their careers with inspiring speaking sessions and by providing a welcoming community of scholars and the highest quality learning, networking, and social experiences. This year's conference takes place April 3-5 in San Francisco, California. For more information, visit http://tapiaconference.org/2011/.

Linux Storage and Filesystem Summit

NetApp's Office of the CTO is also a platinum sponsor of The Linux Storage and Filesystem Summit. This summit brings together developers and researchers who work with the Linux storage and file system software for discussion on current problems and upcoming technology. The summit takes place April 4-5 in San Francisco, California and is made up of separate storage and file system tracks, combined plenary sessions, and hands-on development sessions. SNIA Cloud Plugfest

NetApp will participate in the SNIA Cloud Plugfest April 19-21 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Cloud Plugfest is a forum for vendors to test, identify, and refine their implementations of the CDMI and Open Cloud Computing Interface (OCCI) in a collaborative setting with the goal of helping companies develop interoperable products. David Slik, technical director of Object Storage at NetApp and co-chair of the SNIA Cloud Technical Working Group, will bring a CDMI client to Plugfest to serve as a testing tool in interoperability testing with participating vendors. For more information on the Plugfest, visit www.snia.org/cloud/cloudplugfest.
