Egenera Awarded Patent for Highly-Available Cluster Technology

MARLBOROUGH, Mass., November 22, 2010 -- Egenera Inc. announced it has been awarded U.S. Patent No. 7,787,388 for clustering and fail-over technology used to ensure its highly-available converged infrastructure services. Egenera's patent is for a uniquely architected, redundant controller fabric configuration that ensures business critical levels of availability for its PAN Manager Software controllers. No other converged infrastructure or unified computing system today can boast this form of availability.

While use of converged infrastructure is the best way to physically simplify datacenter topology, it is also one of the most well-designed ways to provide availability and disaster recovery (DR) services. Egenera's software is currently in use worldwide to provide high-availability and disaster recovery for both physical and virtual servers at commercial and government locations.

About Egenera

Converge. Unify. Simplify. That's how Egenera converged infrastructure and unified computing solutions have been transforming datacenters and service providers worldwide for over 10 years. The company's production-proven PAN Manager Software leverages powerful I/O virtualization and converged network fabric to deliver quantifiable value such as high availability, disaster recovery, operational agility, and cloud computing infrastructures. Egenera software and services guarantee simple wire-once, always-on, physical / virtual infrastructure automation on standard volume platforms with significant savings every time. Headquartered in Marlborough, Mass., Egenera has offices globally. For more information visit http://www.egenera.com
