LISLE, Ill., August 18, 2010 -- A team of cloud computing experts from Univa and Intel are hosting a free webcast on August 19, 2010 to discuss their top five lessons learned from planning and implementing hybrid cloud solutions.
The webcast, titled “Top 5 Must-Haves for Hybrid Cloud Computing,” will address best practices for implementing a hybrid cloud, where the computing environment consists of a mixture of internal and external resources. Cloud technology experts from Intel and Univa will present their collective top five lessons learned in hybrid cloud planning and execution phases, including must-have technologies and pitfalls to avoid.
The event is crafted for IT directors or executives who are seeking to learn what is possible with hybrid cloud computing today and the necessary steps for making this approach viable.
* Billy Cox, director of Cloud Strategy and Planning, Software Solutions Group, Intel Corporation
* Bill Bryce, vice president of Products, Univa
These presenters will be joined by a team of experts who will participate in discussion and Q&A:
* Sinisa Veseli, Solutions Architect, Univa
* Rekha Raghu, Technical Program Manager, Intel Corporation
* Trevor Cooper, Program Manager, Cloud Lab, Intel Corporation
“The majority of organizations we talk to find that a hybrid model makes the most sense for their computing needs,” said Bryce. “Now that Univa has made it possible to migrate workload seamlessly across multiple internal and external resources based on policies and requirements, the option to dynamically flex the computing environment into an external cloud becomes much more realistic and attractive.”
“For this session, we have distilled many of the lessons Intel has learned from working with vendors like Univa in the Cloud Builder program,” said Cox. “Participants will find these recommendations extremely practical and valuable as we go beyond the obvious to explore what really works and what doesn’t when it comes to hybrid cloud infrastructures.”
