FREMONT, Calif., June 29 -- Grid Dynamics, the authority on scaling mission-critical systems, is putting forward a unique offer for new customers in July and August. The company will guarantee that Excel applications using its HPC Excel Acceleration Toolkit (HEAT) will run at least 10 times faster. Otherwise, Grid Dynamics will manually adapt the Excel files for free.
HEAT helps companies break through performance barriers that are typical when running complex, compute-intensive financial models using Microsoft Office Excel. While Excel is the industry standard for financial modeling, it doesn't have the computational power to process complex calculations quickly. Running these models on a Microsoft Windows HPC Server cluster, which can perform large and complex calculations in a fraction of the time, will boost performance. However, first the Excel models must be adapted for this parallel computing. HEAT includes a straightforward interface to enable financial analysts to define parallelization logic with little to no modification of the original workbook and only minimal training.
Grid Dynamics client Abacus Solutions, which provides risk management and portfolio management solutions for tier one energy companies like PSEG and Scottish Power, used HEAT to accelerate one of its energy trading models.
