WOBURN, Mass., Dec. 15 -- Demandware, developer of the only enterprise-class on-demand ecommerce platform, today announced the appointment of Scott Dussault to Chief Financial Officer. Dussault brings more than 15 years of financial leadership experience and a track record of success to Demandware, and complements the company's strong leadership team as they further their position as the leader in on-demand ecommerce. In his new role, Dussault is responsible for all the financial and administrative operations of the company.
"We're extremely pleased to bring Scott on board during this exciting time for the company. The financial model of on-demand software is becoming more attractive to retailers who need a reliable ecommerce platform, but don't want to incur the hefty up-front costs typically associated with it. As we continue to experience high demand, we knew it was the right time to bring on a financial expert to ensure our continued success," said Stephan Schambach, founder and chairman of Demandware.
Before joining Demandware, Dussault was Chief Financial Officer at Archivas Inc., a developer and distributor of an online storage management solution designed for long-term storage of fixed-content digital assets. Archivas was acquired by Hitachi Data Systems in February 2007.
Prior to Archivas, Dussault was Chief Financial Officer for Astra Tech Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Astra Zeneca and a distributor of medical devices. Before Astra Tech, he was Chief Financial Officer of StorageNetworks, a publicly-traded data-storage software and services company. While at the company, he was instrumental in growing it from a startup to revenues of $124 million in three years, plus building the infrastructure to support more than 700 employees in 16 different cities. Dussault began his career with Ernst & Young LLP, where he earned his CPA and was a manager in the Entrepreneurial Services and Audit Services areas.
"I am thrilled to be joining such a successful team as we continue to shape the business and financial strategy that will help Demandware achieve its strategic objectives," said Dussault.
Dussault holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration/Accounting from Stonehill College. He is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
