3PAR InServ S800 Storage Server was named one of the most exciting storage vendor products in TheInfoPro (TIP) Storage Study Wave 8, Fall 2006. The InServ Storage Server is a simple, efficient and massively scalable tiered-storage array for utility computing.
Distributed computing data centers are increasingly evolving to utility computing to reduce costs and complexity while recentralizing corporate data, and 3PAR is a storage building block in this transition. The TIP Storage Networking - Fortune 1000 End User Study is based on direct customer feedback on the key issues, hot new storage technologies, spending plans, vendor ratings and projects in 2006 and 2007.
The 3PAR InServ S800 ranked number 2 out of 33 leading vendor products in response to the question "What emerging or exciting vendor product do you have in use?" and 3PAR ranked number 3 in response to the question "Which 1-2 vendors do you think have the most exciting storage products or services?"
A representative customer response is highlighted in the anonymous Fortune 1000 end user survey: "3PAR is in use and it we really like how simple it is for provisioning -- you don't have to be a rocket scientist in LUN magic to run it."

3PAR has penetrated financial services, technology and health care in the Fortune 1000. The company has also become a standard for leading B2B hosting and B2C Internet and Web 2.0 companies. By providing utility computing technologies such as virtualization, automation and clustering, 3PAR is helping to build the mission-critical data center. According to 3PAR, their customers need only purchase half the storage capacity required with traditional storage arrays. 3PAR also claims that deploying 3PAR Utility Storage means lower capital costs and administration overhead as well as reduced consumption of electricity and data center floor space.
