Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has deployed Attunity's real-time Data Integration platform with Microsoft's DTS to improve the timeliness of its reporting, eliminate its nightly batch processing and free up system resources to improve service levels to its customers.
Abercrombie & Kent, a luxury travel company based in Oak Brook, Ill., with 48 offices worldwide, needed to improve the timeliness of its financial reporting and provide accurate and up-to-date information on customer data, reservations and schedules. They have selected Attunity's Stream solution to update their data warehouse, based on Microsoft's SQL Server, in real-time. The information, extracted from the HP NonStop production system, is delivered on-demand to the SQL Server for business and financial reporting.
"Attunity's real-time Stream solution has allowed us to considerably increase our operational efficiencies," said Scot Anderson, vice president of information technology at A&K. "We can now maintain our customer database and generate timely operational and financial reports immediately without having to wait for our nightly batch processing to complete. As a matter of fact, the Attunity solution may allow us to eliminate our batch windows altogether."
Attunity's real-time Integration Suite provides seamless integration between the SQL Server 2005 BI Suite and HP NonStop platform. It provides direct data access and fast and efficient change data capture, allowing companies to build reports and dashboards that access information on the NonStop. Furthermore, using Attunity's Data Federation solution, real-time information from multiple sources can be provided as part of a virtual view, delivered directly to business users.
"Attunity is addressing critical and difficult data
integration challenges involving real-time data movement, batch windows
and the growing volumes of data," said Daniel Sapir, vice president of worldwide marketing at Attunity. "We are very pleased that Abercrombie & Kent
selected us for their real-time reporting. Our real-time solution is
specifically architected to deliver immediate business benefits with
increased operational efficiencies and cost reductions."
Using Attunity's products, companies can connect to data sources, stream data changes across the enterprise and federate heterogeneous information to achieve a single view of their business. Employing a distributed architecture, Attunity software runs natively on enterprise data servers, turning locked data silos into an efficient information grid.
