MARLBOROUGH, Mass. & HOUSTON, June 25 -- Scali and Liquid Computing announced an OEM agreement supporting Scali MPI Connect on Liquid Computing's LiquidIQ server. Scali MPI Connect is a high performance, scalable and fully supported implementation of the industry standard Message Passing Interface (MPI) which is widely used in high performance computing applications. LiquidIQ is an award winning fabric computing server that delivers industry leading performance, flexibility and cost advantages.
"Scali MPI Connect is the industry standard against which all others are measured," said Jack Kay, CEO of Scali. "We are excited to bring together Scali MPI Connect with LiquidIQ to bring unprecedented performance benefits to Oil & Gas and other customers."
"With this agreement, Liquid Computing now offers customers a choice between two fully supported high performance MPI implementations on LiquidIQ: MPICH and Scali's MPI Connect," said Nick Weston, Director of World Wide Energy Sales for Liquid Computing. "Our first deployments of Scali's MPI Connect will be for reservoir simulation applications in the oil and gas industry. For these applications, Liquid Computing is offering an unprecedented 40 percent or better performance improvement along with linear performance scaling to over 64 processors. For end users in the oil and gas industry this speed increase means better production decisions and faster matching of production data to simulation thereby improving return and yield of the hydrocarbons produced. LiquidIQ and Scali MPI Connect are available today and are bringing the industry one step closer to the nirvana of near real-time simulations."
