Tabor Communications Names Debra Goldfarb as New CEO

Tabor Communications Inc. (TCI), publisher of HPCwire and GRIDtoday, has announced it has named HPC (High Productivity Computing) industry veteran Debra Goldfarb as president and CEO effective immediately. The company also announced a significant business expansion effort with the launch of three new operating companies, Tabor Research, Tabor Publications and Events, and Tabor Marketing Services.

As CEO of the parent company, Tabor Communications Inc., Goldfarb will oversee the formation and launch of the new operating companies. A 20-year veteran of the High Productivity Computing industry, Goldfarb is a globally recognized industry opinion shaper. Previously, Goldfarb spent 16 years with IDC where she was one of the foremost industry analysts covering market segments for servers, workstations, and High Productivity Computing. Goldfarb was also instrumental in launching a Life Sciences consulting advisory practice at IDC as well as starting IDC's HPC market research practice. Following IDC, Goldfarb spent several years with IBM as vice president of strategy and products for IBM's Deep Computing group and vice president of strategy for IBM's Systems and Technology group.

Goldfarb replaces Tabor Communications founder and former president, Tom Tabor, who will remain involved with the company as chairman of the board and ambassador-at-large for the organization.

"Debra's unparalleled strategic analytical background, keen business understanding and proven track record as an industry opinion shaper makes her the ideal candidate to spearhead our ambitious plans for business expansion in 2007 and beyond," said Tom Tabor. "For more than 20 years, Tabor Communications has had a solid reputation as a market-leading Internet-based publisher. With Debra's leadership and our expanded organizational resources, we will have a much broader portfolio of services to support our customers with their strategic planning and marketing activities."

"Historically, Tabor Communications has been synonymous with the company's two industry leading publications, HPCwire and GRIDtoday," said Goldfarb. "Part of our own communications challenge moving forward is to change the broad perception of Tabor Communications now that the publications will be just one part of a much larger organization. This new, expanded organization is uniquely positioned to assist companies either developing or implementing High Productivity Computing solutions by providing them with forward-looking actionable market intelligence that comprehensively addresses all attributes of the HPC value chain." Goldfarb continued, "Our plan is to leverage the breadth of existing TCI assets, combined with our new results-oriented services to support our customers with the information and counsel they need to enhance their competitiveness."

Under Goldfarb's leadership, the company will take on a significant business expansion in 2007. The new Tabor Communications operating companies will be established as independent business operations and include:
